2010 CANADIAN SKI CROSS CHAMPIONSHIPS

Calgary Olyimpic Park  MARCH 27, 2010

This year the Canadian Ski Cross National Championships will be held in conjuction with Alpine Canada & The Canadian Freestyle Association in the GMC March of Champions ski event March 27

Come out and watch Canada's Olympians race live.

In an event like no other recently held in Canada, Olympic gold medalists Alexandre Bilodeau and Ashleigh McIvor and Olympic Silver Medalist Jen Heil will all compete for national titles in their respective sports on the same day.

World Championships medalist Michael Janyk and several other national alpine ski team members will also participate, competing in a GMC dual slalom on the same day as the national slalom titles are handed out at Nakiska.

The GMC March of Champions will also include Olympic athlete autograph sessions, awards ceremonies and a DJ throughout the day. It all takes place March 27 at Canada Olympic Park in Calgary, AB.

Later that night, catch entertainment by Michael Bernard Fitzgerald, The Other Side and BC / DC on the GMC Stage.

Entries are in accordance with the FIS quotas and rules. Each competitor must have a FIS Freestyle License to compete in the FIS Category. 

There is a $50.00 fee to activate a FIS Freestyle License. Participants under the age of 18 must have signature of a parent or guardian.

FIS Licenses are not available on-site and must be activated by the Canadian Snowsports Association, prior to the event. Please contact, Lillian Alderton, details below for further information and activation.

Online Registration deadline: Thursday March 25, 2009 12:00am, Payment through Paypal and Online payment is strongly encouraged.

On Site Registration:  West Ticket Counter on Main floor near the Medic Stations ***On site payments by cash only****

Registration Hours:  Thursday - Friday 10:00AM - 11:30AM
                                 Saturday - Sunday 7:30AM -  8:30AM

Bibs:  Bib deposit is $30 in cash payable at Ski Cross registration table in the Day Lodge.  Bibs must be worn during all official training, competition and awards.

Lift tickets:  $25 per day which can be paid for once you have received your bib.

Awards:
   FIS National Championships Awards and Trophy Presentation will be held at 16:00 Saturday, March 27th 2010 on the back deck of the day lodge.

Open Race Category 15+ Awards will be held at 16:00 Sunday, March 28th 2010 on the back deck of the day lodge.

Race rules: As per FIS Ski Cross:  All athletes need at least 1 training run.

Equipment: As per FIS Ski Cross rules. Clothing- 2 piece with minimum 60mm gap in material, no downhill suits; mandatory- helmets designed for ski racing meeting FIS requirements (CEE1077, US 2040 or ASTM F2040); recommended- spine pad, mouth guard and non protruding body protection.
